Autism
Autism is a complex neurobehavioral disorder that affects many areas of an individual’s life. It’s characterized by challenges with social skills, communication, repetitive behaviors, speech, and non-verbal communication. Our Behavioral Interventionists (BI) are certified to work with children, youth and their families to help facilitate healthy and age appropriate development. Autism services are from birth to 18 years of age.
SPECTRUM SUPPORTS
A Behaviour Interventionist (BI) helps families with implementing an individualized intervention plan. The BI works one-on-one and uses teaching methods to target specific behaviours and achieve goals as directed by the Behavioural Consultant. The BI collects data, monitors, and records the individual’s progress for the family and team.
We use positive behavior supports to increase age-appropriate behavior. Sessions may take place in our Autism Centre purposefully built and equipped to provide a fun learning environment, or in other venues depending on session type and participants. Contact us at 250-392-4481 for more information.
