The Stats...

  • The Canadian Centre for Child Protection (C3P) is processing more than 100,000 reports of online child sexual exploitation every month.

  • The RCMPS’s Integrated Child Exploitation Unit (BC ICE) is reporting that the rates of online child exploitation in BC almost quadrupled from 2021 to 2023.

  • Cybertip processed close to 4,000 sexually explicit deepfake images and videos of youth in just one year.

  • 217% increase in police-reported online sexual exploitation of children in Canada in the past 10 years.

  • 88% increase in sextortion and other forms online exploitation during the pandemic

  • 2 in 3 minors have been asked to move from a public chat into a private conversation on a different platform.

  • 1 in 4 parents reported coming across inappropriate online behaviour aimed at their child.
