The Cariboo Chilcotin Child Development Centre is actively seeking volunteers for various upcoming programs, including swimming, our Christmas toy drive, and fun activities like 'Horsin' Around.'

Additionally, we have established partnerships with local high schools and universities, supporting students in fulfilling their required volunteer hours for program participation and graduation portfolios. We assist by completing necessary evaluation forms and providing recommendation letters for various purposes, such as employment, post-secondary education, and scholarship applications. These services are available to all our valued volunteers, including you, during or after your involvement in our programs.

Horsin' Around

This spring (2026) we're looking for volunteers to join our Horsin’ Around Program!

This unique program supports children who face a variety of barriers — and volunteers are a key part of making it a safe, encouraging, and positive experience. You don’t need horse experience, just a comfort level around horses and a genuine care for kids.

Horsin’ Around runs March 23–26, and it’s an incredibly meaningful way to give back. There’s something powerful about watching a child build confidence, connection, and joy alongside a horse — and getting to be part of that journey.

After a short orientation, volunteers choose one or more one-hour shifts within the program dates. Time slots are:

10:30–11:30 am

12:00–1:00 pm

1:30–2:30 pm

Many volunteers participate for just a single hour — others choose multiple shifts — depending on what fits their schedule. One hour of your time can really impact the life of a child. Volunteers often report how rewarding it is to be even a small part of this program.
