For 22 years, Horsin’ Around has created opportunities for local children and youth to connect with horses in a safe, supportive environment.
This year, the program welcomed 15 participants and was made possible by 26 volunteers. Their time, care, and encouragement helped create a positive experience for every child involved.
What makes Horsin’ Around so meaningful is that each child is met where they are. The program gives children a chance to participate at their own pace while building confidence, connection, and new skills in a setting designed to support a wide range of physical, emotional, and social developmental needs. Children often begin the week unsure about even touching a horse, and by the end are confidently participating in activities and riding.
We are grateful to the Williams Lake Tribune for helping shine a light on the impact of this program and the volunteers who help make it possible. You can read the article here: Volunteers help local children facing barriers connect with horses in Williams Lake.
Thank you to everyone who has helped sustain Horsin’ Around over the past 22 years, and especially to the volunteers who supported this year’s program.
Special thanks to the Williams Lake Trail Riders Association for helping make this incredible program happen annually and for the Lakers Car Club generosity in helping fund it this year. This is truly a community fueled program and we couldn't do it alone.
As you look through the photos, we hope they reflect the care, connection, and community that continue to make Horsin’ Around so special.
